Based on my research the issue with young horses is that killing all those worms at once can create blockage in the intestine since they're not fully grown, but I'm glad your boarder's 2-year-old was good with double-dose!

Hemie lives in a 12x24 half-covered pipe corral, and gets turned out 3x per week in larger pipe corrals, but there is no actual "pasture" to speak of. I do not think the turn-outs get cleaned out before each rotation of horses - more likely cleaned just once a day. So there's where he's coming into contact with other horse's poop.Sarahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15925650148327532110noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5371838582463916633.post-3449046092058619922013-12-19T14:03:04.515-08:002013-12-19T14:03:04.515-08:00I have not, though I have discussed it with the ve...I have not, though I have discussed it with the vets and as of right now it is not being recommended. We wormed him aggressively and it was persistent. We used a double dose and that did the trick for a while, tried the vets wormer, did nothing. I found the best thing was to double dose, wait two weeks, and do it again. It's a lot to take for them, but you need to kill the entire egg cycle.

How is the pasture maintenance there?Boss Mare Eventinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08039910692009593158noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5371838582463916633.post-72626575101818954002013-12-19T12:16:48.581-08:002013-12-19T12:16:48.581-08:00Have you tried daily feed-through wormer as a prev...Have you tried daily feed-through wormer as a preventative?Domhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00139769676714813261noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5371838582463916633.post-77702092143772257782013-12-19T12:05:02.985-08:002013-12-19T12:05:02.985-08:00I'm sorry that I don't know much about wor...I'm sorry that I don't know much about worms.Paolahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17010335773772355225noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5371838582463916633.post-71740516099005557482013-12-19T11:30:44.260-08:002013-12-19T11:30:44.260-08:00Eeek I am no help sorry!
